Local and systemic reactions of sensimotor structures to limb lengthening and ischemia - Kurgan : dammi, 2006. – 284 pages
Language: Russian
The book has been brought out in support of the Russian Basic Research Foundation, project № 06-04-62019. The book describes the findings of multipronged neurophysiological studies in the nerve and muscle reactive and adaptive characteristics when limbs are lengthened with distraction osteosynthesis after Ilizarov as well as evidences of induced bioelectrical activity of somatosensory cerebral cortex and local isometric motor tests devised on the principles of continuous and discrete visual-motor tracking. It includes conceptual views on how partial disorders in the system of relationship between peripheral sensimotor structures and the "body scheme" system are being developed and fixed. Mechanisms of postdistraction sensimotor deficiency related to substantial restructuring in the peripheral motor units, i.e. the origin and evolution in inconsistency between central motor programmes predetermined genetically and raised during ontogenesis, and effectors’ executive capabilities, as well as deficiency of adequate sensory maintenance of locomotion with elongated limb involved. Methods for diagnostics and correction of postdistraction locomotor disorders based on electroneuromyographic technologies and registered and analysed induced bioelectrical activity of somatosensory cerebral cortex, electric stimulation, functional biomonitoring and hyperbaric oxygenation are offered.
Specialists such as neurophysiologists, psychophysiologists, orthopaedic and trauma surgeons, neuropathologists, rehabilitologists will find the book useful.

Language: Russian
The book describes major tendencies of changes in qualitative, quantitative electroencephalographic and elctroneuromyographic characteristics of functional condition of patients following insults and severe проанализированы основные тенденции в изменении качественных, количественных электроэнцефалографических и электронейромиографических характеристик функционального состояния больных с последствиями инсульта и тяжелой чskull injuries during treatment employing vasoactive cranioosteoplasty devised at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics. Specific reactions of the central nervous system to vasoactive cranioosteoplasty in patients depending on age, etiology and severity of primary disturbances of pyramid structures of the brain have been studied, and concepts on stages and mechanisms of reactive restructuring in the cerebral cortex under the influence of vasoactive cranioosteoplasty in patients of the above nosological groups formulated. In addition to that, the authors presented a new assessment technique for central hemiparesis grade according to electroneuromyography data – the technique for measuring cerebrospinal index and based on application of the criteria – technology for mapping motor zones of greater hemisphere cerebral cortex.

Defects of the lower limb bones. - Kurgan, 2000. - 684 pp. ISBN 5-87247-193-9
Language: english
The book is devoted to the problem of treatment of patients with defects of the lower limb bones. It covers the modern transosseus osteosynthesis technology with the application of the Ilizarov apparatus. This is the first book to study in depth the problem of treatment of patients with defects of the lower limb bones based on the multi-factor analysis. Rates and rhythms of transposition of bone fragments are substantiated biomechanically, as well as ways of reducing soft tissues traumatization with wires and judicious reconstruction of bone segments. Unique data about tactical and technical principles of osteosynthesis, contained in the book, will allow a surgeon to come to optimal decisions in the process of treatment of patients with a complex of anatomic-and-functional changes, accompanying a disease. A detailed analysis of possible processing mistakes, leading to various complications of therapeutic process, measures of their prevention and treatment will be of particular importance to a physician. A large number of diagrams and photographs have been used to illustrate osteosynthesis techniques. The book is the outcome of the authors' 30 years experience in the treatment of patients, using the techniques of transosseous osteosynthesis with the Ilizarov apparatus.

Rehabilitation of patients with chronic osteomyelitis and bone cysts. Kurgan, 2003. - 263 pp. ISBN 5-87247-314-1. The monography is dedicated to the quite actual problem of traumatology and orthopaedics - plastic surgery of chronic osteomyelitis with bone cavities and treatment of bone cysts. In the literary review authors carried out analysis of the world experience of treatment of patients with bone cavities, displayed achhievements and failures of both surgical and conservative therapy. The necessity of following development of methods for treatment of these patients. Perennial experience of rehabilitation of patients in RISC "RTO" allowed to substantiate application of new technologies of transosseous osteosynthesis by Ilizarov apparatus in treatment of such complicated patients. On the basis of 27 inventions a break-through was achieved in chronic osteomyelitis treatment. The new approach to surgical treatment of chronic osteomyelitis was developed. It's gist lies in integration of filling bone cavities, orthopedic reconstruction of injured segments of limbs and reduction of purulent process into one stage. This advanced way of medical and social rehabilitation allowed to decrease the period of treatment, to reduce moral expenses, pecuniary costs of both patients and hospitals. Because of young and able-bodied age of majority of patients, theirs restitution has not only social, but also national economical meaning. On the basis of clinical, roentgenological, morphological, pathohistologic and radionuclide methods of investigation the new method of detection of veritable sizes of bone cavities was developed. The possibility of osteomyelitic process reducing by dosed replacement of local bone defects using transosseous osteosynthesis. Computer morpho-densitometry of digital X-ray images allows to carry out quantitative valuation of dynamics of reparative osteogenesis. Morphologic classification of osteomyelitic injuries, developed by authors, is also of interest. The analysis of mistakes and complications allows to propose measures for theirs prevention and prompt elimination. The book is illustrated with X-ray images, schemes of operations, photos, extracts from case histories. Monography is actual, competently written. It is of interest of traumatologists-orthopedists, surgeons that are occupied in treatment of osteomyelitis and bone cysts. Prof. S.A.Pavlovichev Prof. A.A.Safronov Prof. V.I.Nikitenko
