Fruitful Partnership

The relations between the RISC RTO and the South Korean company Seoul Prosthetics Co., Ltd have been developing for 15 years already. 217 specialists from South Korea have visited the Ilizarov center and trained at the faculty for advanced training in transosseous osteosynthsis.

The techniques developed at our Center have been widely used by Korean colleagues and this was also stimulated by the visits of the Center’s surgeons to Korea to participate in different orthopaedic conferences, training courses, and consultations.

The last visit of 11 Korean specialists to be trained in the Ilizarov techniques was on October 6-10, 2008. The program was busy and included lectures of prominent Center’s professors and live surgeries. The group had a meeting with the City Mayor and visited museums.

Mr. Son Dong Yun, president of Seoul Prosthetics Co., Ltd was recognized with the title Honoured Professor for his contribution into the development of relations between the countries and dissemination of the Ilizartov method in the world. He was awarded with a gown and diploma of honour.
